In your own work and the works in Frontera you’re dealing with very heavy subject matter; what is the importance of your choice of jewelry as a medium in this context?
Tariq Johnson

while making do you have an intention/preference for where you would like your work to exist when it is made?
Lisa Montoya-Catlin

Referring to the images from the Klimt02 article, the metal work in your earlier pieces (Acanthus Mollis 5) seems to be constrained to the geometric confines. From Acanthus Mollis 7 to En la Ciudad de México, the metal work appears to have broken out of the confines to become the dominant element of each piece. Was this an intentional process and what led you to make the transition?

Is it always a smooth relationship between your interests in Sociology/Agronomy and your work as a jewelry artist or is there sometimes tension there?  How do you navigate these different parts of yourself as you go about your work?
Kitty Nix

What kind of powder-coat are you using? Is there a type of powder coating that's not powdered plastic?
Naomi Chicoine

With your pieces that incorporate soil, is there a significance to the contrast between jewelry and soil, I.e. a precious item you want to wear vs a material that is considered ‘dirty’, that people generally want to keep off of their clothes?
Eva Struble
