Happy Birthday Robert

13:22
During the Budget meeting yesterday it was said that you do not have to take retirement if you choose the EEP. But I did not hear them mention that that an employee separating from the University must retire within 120 days of their separation date to maintain eligibility for earned retiree health benefits. Just thought I would point that out in case it wasn't said or you missed it.

13:55
Happy birthday, Mr. Yslas!

16:21
Thanks Mark for pointing that out!

19:42
all can donate up to 40 hours each year

21:01
Can donate to anyone? or must be people on some HR list?

21:15
Has the union ever bargained for allowing us to donate our vacation/sick hours to any other CSUEU employee? Currently we are only allow to donate vacation hours to employees in CLP.

22:20
No. You can only donate to those on Catastrophic Leave.

23:09
Thanks, Troy

24:31
Management will take advantage of this

25:46
We have been working with the campus to get those Cat Leave Request emails to go back out to campus. Hopefully they send one soon. We will ask again at our next Labor Management Committee meeting.

25:49
what's going on w/staff return to campus & school districts are still closed? any updates

26:04
dependent children age schools

28:47
What is the cap for vacation hours?

30:09
https://www.csueu.org/contract/topic/article14

30:22
Vacation credits are cumulative to a maximum of three hundred and twenty (320) working hours for ten (10) or less years of qualifying service or four hundred and forty (440) working hours for more than ten (10) years of such service.

34:15
Thanks Tanya!

34:29
Question they are asking staff to repopulate once a week and taking turns. I do not feel comfortable coming with my son having spina bifida? Do I still have the protection of COVID....

34:46
this is Brendas son there's no audio where getting out herbphone

34:48
her

34:54
if your running you can't be on the committee correct

35:28
Correct

35:30
@Tonya that is correct.

36:07
I missed the last couple of meetings... Has there been any discussion about layoffs next sparing, summer, or fall?

36:11
I was approved for FFCRA when my CPAL hours ran out there is 475

36:26
that was an excellent break down, thank you

36:50
Those serving on the Elections committee cannot run for office and cannot be appointed to an office in the event that no one was nominated.

37:00
Was Tessy able to answer your question Jessica?

37:05
for FFCRA do u need to notify HR that CPAL running out?

38:05
Robert asked a good question during yesterday's budget town hall re: reallocating EEP availability between units. Was that question addressed following the event?

38:27
yes you need to contact them and they will open up the FFCRA with a new contract.

38:32
HR does it all for you

38:59
SO if you have a student whom needs your help online school and you are out of CPAL you can apply for FFCRA

39:24
FFCRA is Federal Leave you do not need to use your hours or FMLA

40:03
Jessica your right but that federal leave is only 80 hours

40:54
Is most of those layoffs staff? If the University is not renewing temporary employees how can they justify IF they continue to hire new faculty?

41:18
Jennifer from HR stated in an email and it is 475

41:35
this is on top of the 80 from CPAL

42:29
Per the BFA website EEP applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm on Saturday, October 31, 2020 to be considered.

42:39
When there are layoffs at CSU does bumping take place?

43:16
the CPAL is 256 hours Federal is 80 hours then FMLA leave but I believe you need to use your own accruals once the CPAL and Federal hours are exhausted benefits would have the best information regarding these leaves

45:09
Call me Tessy at 619-218-0746 so we can discuss in case we need to share with everyone

46:16
Has the union ever bargained for allowing us to donate our vacation/sick hours to any other CSUEU employee? Currently we are only allow to donate vacation hours to employees in CLP.

46:33
yes we did

46:49
Happy B'Day Robert, Enjoy your day!

46:55
So previous bargains ended up with a no can do?

47:01
I had my membership deducted monthly but now it seems something happen because I get reminders to renew. Who do I contact?

47:37
I am having the same issue as Luz.

49:25
Are there any protections for temporary employees coming up on their permanent status whose contracts have not been renewed? Say the contract ends in December but the four year mark to permanent status would be in mid February?

50:08
How does layoff work for the confidential staff C99 work? Would they go first before CSUEU? Are they like MPPs?

50:17
Is it safe to say furloughs would happen before layoffs would happen?

55:27
Confidential C99 employees are not covered by the contract and are treated like MPP. There are laws regarding the confidential classifications, but I don't know the specifics

55:40
Thank you everyone.

57:05
so to be clear, I should call HR to make sure the leave I donated to Catastrophic leave will go to another CSU campus if no one at SDSU does?

57:20
that was definitely not a choice on the paperwork

01:01:07
definitely call and ask benefits about the donated leave and then please follow back up with us depending on what they say

01:01:08
Donated leave stays on this campus

01:05:55
Where in the contract is the Cat leave covered? Am I confused about what Tessy said about donating to another campus whose staff was affected by wildfires or other natural disaster? Of course I want to stay here, if needed, but I don't want it trashed if a CSU Chico person needs it.

01:06:44
Just to clarify: temporary employees are treated the same as probationary employees during layoffs. 24.4 Layoff shall be within classifications determined by the President. For classifications with skill levels, layoff shall be within skill level determined by the President. Twelve (12) month, 11/12 month, 10/12 month and academic year positions with the same class title shall, for the purposes of layoff, be considered a single classification. The order of layoff shall be:a. first, temporary, and probationary employees; andb. last, permanent employees.

01:07:03
15.8

01:07:17
This is per our collective bargaining agreement.

01:07:55
I will definitely ask HR. They should add this information to the Cat Leave donation form.

01:08:07
thank you Tessy and Troy

01:08:58
thank you Cindy

01:09:10
Happy Birthday Robert!
