What is the vacation cut-off - the breakdown before losing vacation time?

Some of the vacant positions from EEP will be critical for example a dept coordinator leaving and their the only coordinator in department. Can they just parcel the work to other coordinators in other departments?

Is vacation required to by cashed out upon retirement?

During the early 90's they combined some of the academic departments so they could have one staff cover multiple departments.

HR takes donations of up to 40 hours of vacation to use for those on family leaves

Will we receive notice from HR if we do have excessive hours like in the past?

no people should look in your people soft to check your hours you can call payroll as well to ask but don’t believe letters are sent sometimes departments let employees know

Whoops, I hit send accidentally. I won’t lose vacation time this year. I’ll be just under the max for carryover. But I’ve been hoarding vacation time for cash when I retire. So I echo Skot’s question about whether or not I am in danger of losing that time as cash payout if I don’t use it within the next year.

The reason many people use their vacation before retirement is because of the tax implications. Again, talk to HR about your specific issue.

If you are taking the EEP, they will let you roll your vacation, CT0 and Personal Holiday into your existing 403b

Brenda, they WILL allow you to roll vacation into a 403b, but please work with benefits on this.
