How do I prepare the exam and make it available only at the test time? And how to set it for a time period?

01:28:05
@mei zhong I am sure Jon will get to this. You can set up all of this before you finish the test.

01:28:31
Ok, thanks, Felicitas!

01:35:22
One course I teach is cross listed in another department. I created a test in one course but how to I get that test to the other course that is cross listed? I copy docs, folders and files using the copy function to transfer over but how do I do that with a test?

01:36:49
@Leonor: Go to Tests, Surveys and Pools. Click Tests. Click the options menu next to the test you wish to copy. Click Export. Go to other course and Tests, Surveys and Pools and click Import Test. Browse to exported test.

01:37:10
THANK YOU Andrea!

01:37:19
:)

01:38:11
Can these questions pools be downloaded for future use?

01:38:55
Yes! It can be downloaded or copied to other Blackboard courses

01:38:56
@Satchi, yes they can be reused.

01:39:31
Satchi, I'll do Respondus training for CDI.

01:40:56
I have used this resource in past to add all questions to pool in one click https://quondam.csi.edu/blackboard/bbquiz/

01:41:41
Thank you @Surabhi

01:48:14
One recommendation would be to have a Zoom session open during the test, so that you’re available to students during that high-stress time for them.

01:51:02
I have to head out for another zoom meeting now. Goodbye everyone. Stay well.

01:52:06
I need to leave to "meet" with a student. Thank you, Jon!

01:56:26
Can they upload a video under assignments? or just files?

01:57:08
@Leonor, Blackboard is not optimized to handle video files. It’s best if students share a link via YouTube, Google Drive, or Vimeo.

01:57:37
@Leonor, students can submit the URL via text when submitting the assignment.

01:57:44
Got it! Thank you Leopoldo

01:58:07
@ Leonor Or even the Zoom cloud! Students have Zoom Pro accounts too and can send you a link to their recording

01:58:23
Are there instructions for student to submit an assignment or do we need to tell them how to do that?

01:59:40
@Margaret, you can share this link with your students or copy and paste these instructions when creating your assignment: https://help.blackboard.com/Learn/Student/Assignments/Submit_Assignments#submit-an-assignment_OTP-2

01:59:58
Thanks

02:01:38
Virtual FIT Center link and hours of operation can be found here: https://its.sdsu.edu/covid-19/

02:02:51
You can use groups and adaptive release to make different versions of written assignments available to each group. I use this for case studies. But it's not an actual group assignment. I just use the groups to randomly assign the cases.

02:04:24
@Mark - Amen!!

02:04:49
Margaret you can tell them how

02:05:30
Also, if you decide to add another element of difficulty, Respondus LockDown Browser, please provide a practice test as many students have never used LockDown Browser.

02:07:30
How about Chromebook for taking tests?

02:08:05
Chromebook will not work for Respondus

02:08:37
Can take a test on Chromebook but not with Respondus LockDown Browser. The student help desk in the Library is way more knowledgeable about these kinds of things as they support so many students using so many devices.

02:08:43
Jon … thank you. You always do a super job explaining these wonderful tools. Jumping off for another Zoom meeting. Be healthy and give your dog a hug.

02:08:48
What is the link for the tool to convert test questions from a Word doc?

02:09:07
Thank you Jon, ITS Team, and everyone!

02:09:28
I have to go to another Zoom meeting. Great job, Jon! Bye all!

02:09:35
Thanks, Michelle and Linda!

02:09:49
You must have access to a PC. I will put the URL is https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1Id9z5xagFwWGNHRG9IbGp1MHM

02:09:51
@Margaret, Respondus Test Editor https://its.sdsu.edu/assessment-tools/respondus/

02:09:56
Thank you so much. I feel much more confidant using these the approaches! I really appreciate getting to hear about others experience. Thank you Mark!

02:10:24
Respondus LockDown Browser is on our ITS website. Respondus Test Editor is in a shared folder.

02:12:39
Found it - thanks.

02:13:26
Thank you, Jon. :)
